Winter Word Search Puzzles (Grades 2-4) – printable PDF cover

What’s inside

A printable winter word search for kids in 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade. Three winter word searches from Easy to Challenging, each with its own word list and answer page.

The Winter words to find

Here is every word in the set. Easy (8 words): Hat, Ice, Cold, Boots, Cocoa, Igloo, Scarf and Skate. Medium (10 words): Ice, Cold, Snow, Boots, Cocoa, Frost, Igloo, Skate, Shovel and Winter. Challenging (12 words): Boots, Cocoa, Frost, Igloo, Scarf, Skate, Shovel, Winter, Mittens, Blizzard, Snowball and Snowflake.

Where the words hide: Easy: across and down; Medium: across, down and diagonally; Challenging: in every direction – even backwards.

Who it is for

Made for 2nd, 3rd and 4th graders (about ages 7 to 10). Kids build letter recognition, spelling and focus while they work. A note for grown-ups: Mittens often keep hands warmer than gloves, because the fingers stay together and share their heat.

Ideas for using it

  • A calm-down activity
  • An early-finisher page
  • Part of a winter or seasons unit

Print at 100% on US Letter paper (A4 works with “Fit to page”). This set will also be part of the Winter Mega Pack, which collects every winter activity in one PDF.
